  3. What is the cause of teenage cruelty?

Understanding the causes of teenage cruelty is quite difficult. Boys and girls on the threshold of adulthood, due to a lack of life experience, do not understand how to get out of this or that situation with dignity, and therefore are prone to aggression. The reasons why cruelty arises in their souls are very different, but most often it is the indifferent attitude of parents to the problems of their children.

It is difficult to imagine what would have happened to Vasya, the hero of the story by V.G. Korolenko “Children of the Dungeon”, if he had not met Tyburtsia, Valeka and Marusya, who gave him love and joy, his blood father could not give him this.

Often a child becomes aggressive based on the example of his own parents. A striking example of this is Vova Buryanov from the work of B. Vasiliev “Don’t shoot white swans.” His father was a rather cruel man; he believed that a dog should live as long as it was able to guard the yard, after which he would kill it. Vovka adopted this.

Often the reason for cruel behavior lies in the desire to establish oneself as the only leader. Thus, Vadik, a character in V. Rasputin’s story “French Lessons,” shamelessly beats up a boy from a poor family because he beat him at chica. This is the price of his authority.

The environment in which a child is located can also influence his behavior. Let us recall the work of V.K. Zheleznyakov “Scarecrow”. There, Dima Samsonov admitted to the class teacher that his classmates had left lessons. Lena Bessoltseva, who feels sympathy for Dima, takes all his blame on her shoulders. The guys' attitude towards her changed dramatically. But Samsonov did not dare to stand up for the girl and took the position of class.

Teenage cruelty is a consequence of many reasons and it is not only the fault of parents, but also of society as a whole. She does not tolerate justification; heartlessness cannot be outgrown.

Cruelty brings grief not only to others, but also to the person himself. If you get carried away by negativity, you can be left without acquaintances and friends. This doesn't lead to any good. Therefore, it is worth thinking about your behavior and actions.

You should not immediately condemn a person for his aggressive behavior; it is quite possible that behind this cruelty is hidden a child deprived of love and affection.

Option 2

Teenage violence is a problem that has seriously worsened in recent years. A few decades ago, it was wild to imagine children and teenagers as cruel and dangerous people. Previously, morality and ethics were at a high level, cruelty was condemned and condemned.

Nowadays, often nothing bothers anyone. Everyone lives as they see fit. No one cares about other people's problems. If earlier adults noticed troubled teenagers, they tried to involve him in work and re-educate him. Explain the basic truths of life so that the young man understands that he cannot live like this. That such a life will lead to the destruction of personality and will cause pain and harm to others. And such guys really changed and became decent people. Because at one time they were patronized, but now no one needs anything. If a guy or girl disappears, no one cares. And then very sad consequences occur that affect everyone around.

Teenagers never do evil by accident. There is always a preceding event. When they were hurt, they were mocked, insulted and mocked. And now they have grown up and become stronger. Only now they will take revenge on everyone. But this may not affect the offenders.

How many fights, murders and fatal incidents involving teenagers have occurred recently? – After all, all this could have been avoided. When a teenager felt bad, he had nowhere and no one to go to. He had nowhere to pour out his anger, resentment and receive encouragement. Sometimes evil can accumulate for years. And at one moment become obvious to everyone.

Then such teenagers grab weapons and kill. In this way they try to show how strong and independent they are. But in reality: they have long been broken as individuals and broken inside. They cannot live in peace. Nothing makes them happy. Such teenagers will not rest until they take revenge. Revenge can affect anyone, even those who had nothing to do with the root cause.

The main cause of teenage cruelty is homelessness. Teenagers who no one needs live with a huge heaviness on their hearts. They are lonely and empty. They are constantly ridiculed by their peers, and teachers only emphasize the negative aspects. However, few people think about how such children live.

Everything happens because they were not given help in time and were pushed by their actions to commit a crime. Nowadays, no one wants to take responsibility, but everyone wants to live well and safely. In the old days there were fewer problems with these issues because they dealt with teenagers.

What do you think could be the reasons for cruelty?

(379 words) What are the causes of human cruelty? This question was asked by many philosophers, authors of journalistic works and fiction. Personally, I believe that the main reason is the eternal struggle of people with each other. As the ultimate manifestation of cruelty, war brings out the worst qualities of human nature. Let's look at literary examples to verify the correctness of this point of view.

Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy, in his epic novel War and Peace, described war as the epicenter and root cause of cruelty. The main characters of the work experience severe shocks, finding themselves participants in hostilities. We see the most terrible changes in the young Prince Andrei Bolkonsky. Having unusually romantic ideas about battles, full of heroism and honor, he encounters the true face of war - merciless, almost bestial cruelty on the battlefield. Finding himself on the verge of death, the prince changes radically and there is almost nothing left in him in common with the dreamy young man whom we meet at the beginning of the novel. For example, he cannot forgive Natasha’s betrayal, expressing his irreconcilability in a conversation with Pierre. Bezukhov asks his friend not to be too strict, but the hero is no longer capable of mercy: he is poisoned by the war. Therefore, the author ends his life, hinting that Andrei will no longer be able to build a happy family. A person who has been on the battlefield at least once can no longer recover from hardness of heart.

Similar examples can be found in foreign prose. Ernest Hemmingway, as a participant in the First World War, left behind one of the greatest monuments of world literature - the novel A Farewell to Arms! The main character of the work, American officer Frederick Henry, serving in a medical unit, experiences the hardships of war, witnessing terrible events. Having fallen in love with nurse Catherine, he deserted from the army and moved to Switzerland with his beloved. On the way there, they are cut short by an inexorable fate: Henry is threatened with execution, and everywhere he feels a pursuit, as if a fugitive is being hunted. Even peaceful citizens become embittered and inform on each other, not sparing those whom they doom to death. War and its cruelty are driving an exhausted society crazy, ready to tear to pieces anyone, even an innocent person.

The works cited as examples are characterized by the fact that they were written by direct participants in wars who saw their consequences. Not only the soldiers became embittered, the struggle poisoned entire nations, entire generations of people with its poisonous bloody juice for a long time. It only seems to us that a war does not concern us if it is going on in another country. It penetrates our consciousness through the media and accustoms us to the idea of the inevitability of violence. Such a worldview sooner or later leads a person to his small or great cruelty.

Teenage cruelty

Before posting this essay, I would like to present the beginning and end of the text, according to which, in fact, this essay was written, so that there is no confusion. “On Sunday, some issue was supposed to be resolved at a meeting of our housing cooperative. They even collected signatures so that everyone would come. “And you smile!” — I suddenly heard the cry of my children. The chairman and I turned around: the children were excitedly, with all their strength, shooting snowballs at figures sculpted from snow: dad, mom, themselves, and all their relatives. also its rapid spread.

The author talks about how the guys played football, and they played very cruelly. Suddenly one of the boys was hit in the face with a wet ball, and the rest of the guys “to the sound of friendly laughter” told him to smile. “The teenager flushed, but pulled back, but I noticed that his eyes became harder, and he began to play angrier and more secretively. He hunted for the ball, hit, sometimes not passing with his own, but slamming it into the nearest opponent...” The author believes that cruel attitudes among teenagers are very widespread, quickly spread from one to another and acquire enormous proportions, and this situation needs to be eradicated. I agree with the opinion of the author. I will give two arguments to support my position.

The first one I will take from V.K. Zheleznyakov’s book “Scarecrow”. Lena Bessoltseva takes the blame for Dima Somov, her new classmate, who told their class teacher Margarita Ivanovna where all the kids ran away from class, as a result of which she becomes the main object of bullying from the kids. They boycotted her and even beat the girl several times.

Dima not only did not admit to the guys his “misconduct” in front of them, but also joined them in bullying Lena. I will give the second argument from the work of V. G. Rasputin “French Lessons”. Volodya is the main character, an eleven-year-old boy who moved to the city to study. He suffered from anemia, so every day he bought himself a glass of milk for a ruble for treatment.

He earned this ruble by winning at chica. Each time, receiving the required amount, Volodya left the game. But one day the guys did not let him leave, forcing him to continue playing, and Vadik, the best player, and, apparently, the leader of the “gang” of players, provoked a fight, as a result of which Volodya was beaten.

The guys showed cruelty and took revenge. Based on all of the above, I can say that teenagers still have a cruel attitude towards each other, and since these works from which I took arguments are read in school today, we can say that this problem is still there today remains relevant.

Why do children become cruel?

What about a violent child? It is known that personality development occurs gradually, and the initial stages are characterized by imperfection or even the absence of a moral position. The child must still become a conscious person, step by step, under the guidance of an adult. As a rule, he is still under the influence of his own impulses and emotions.

Moral barriers that organize the life of an adult are not learned by children. In addition, the child does not always know how to correlate his actions and their consequences. After all, many adults have “itching hands” when someone irritates them with their behavior, and only with significant volitional efforts do they manage to restrain themselves. The years they have lived, the life experience they have acquired, and the moral precepts they have learned have taught them to adhere to social norms.

The child has not yet received such experience, has not learned the necessary moral lessons, his “hands itch” for not long, and reprisals against his peers, those who are younger and weaker, happen instantly.

A child can act cruelly out of ignorance, from not understanding that the cry and crying of a comrade is evidence of the suffering and pain inflicted on him. If he has not learned to understand and empathize, then he is not able to correctly assess and feel the suffering of others. Although this is not an excuse, since humanity in relation to others can never be learned. Awakening compassion in a child’s soul is the task of adults: parents, teachers, educators.

Researchers have noticed that children of parents who do not try to restrain their own manifestations of cruelty are more likely to be cruel. This phenomenon can be considered as a manifestation of heredity, or it can be explained by the fact that children simply learn appropriate behavior with the help of visual aids.

Pathology or gap in upbringing: why do teenagers become violent?

The story of a teenage flayer, who posted online abuse of an animal, and then fell under lynching by his peers, excited Stavropol.

What pushes young people to such cruel acts and what should parents do if they notice a tendency towards violence in their children, says medical psychologist SKKSPB No. 1 Yulia Skoptsova.

Problems of cruelty and violence can be either congenital mental disorders or acquired as a result of prolonged exposure to such an environment, for example, if violence is present in the family or the surrounding society. The psychological model of personality plays an important role.

Of course, manifestations of teenage cruelty always require a comprehensive assessment with the participation of a psychiatrist, psychologist, teachers and people raising a teenager.

Violence begets violence. Especially if it is an immature psyche and a psyche that has not been taught to react differently. Children and adolescents often understand punishment as an act of violence - to cause pain, resentment, or put them in a state of fear. In this case, there were like-minded people who united and decided to punish the young man, not knowing how to do it correctly. Of course, this could have been done in another socially acceptable way. In this situation, the act of arbitrariness carried out by the youth caused nothing but negative emotions from those around them.

What should parents do if they notice excessive cruelty in their children? I would recommend channeling children's emotions in useful and socially acceptable ways. For example, an active child can be sent to some sports.

Parents should be interested in what their children are interested in, what video games they play and what they watch on the Internet. If games labeled 18+ are played by 12 year olds, what can they learn from it? Seeing a picture where the main character kills everyone and eventually becomes a hero, one may be convinced that the same “victory” is possible in life.

Talk more with children, there should be a constant dialogue in the family - this is the main prevention of the occurrence of unwanted behavior patterns.

Causes of childhood cruelty and aggressiveness

The reasons for this behavior lie in external and internal factors. In the recent past, the causes of adolescent aggression and child cruelty were sought exclusively in family relationships. But this factor is not always the most important, otherwise how can one explain the aggressiveness of children from quite prosperous families, where physical violence is not used as an educational measure. Scientists say that genetic predisposition cannot be excluded from the causes. [5]

Upbringing and family atmosphere

On the part of the family, inappropriate behavior of the child can be caused by:

  • too harsh authoritarian upbringing, most often from a strict father;
  • excessive demands on the child;
  • lack of love and weak emotional connection with parents;
  • intimidation (even if they don’t hit, but cause a feeling of fear);
  • excessive connivance and indulgence;
  • domestic conflicts;
  • lack of frankness between child and parents.

If there are problems in family upbringing, the child shows cruelty already in kindergarten, and this should be a warning to parents. Often kindergarten teachers talk about relationship problems in children, but many parents find a lot of excuses and explanations and cannot admit the problem.

Children do not become cruel immediately; it is a gradual process. It is important to observe and promptly apply methods to correct the behavior of aggressive children.

Adolescent and child aggression as a desire to assert oneself

As psychologists' studies show, the first manifestations of aggression in children begin at the age of 9-10 years. It is during this period that the child begins to feel his adulthood, some distance from the family occurs, and relationships with friends and peers are given priority. Cruelty in children's environment is often a desire to assert oneself in the company of peers, which takes on harsh forms. That is, the child wants to prove his own importance and strength, and chooses the simplest way for this - suppression through violence of a physically or psychologically weaker object (younger children, animals). Children's cruelty to animals is one of the first manifestations of aggressive behavior; it is important to understand why and why the child does this.

Violent films and games

Indirect reasons that provoke teenage aggression also include hobbies - movies, TV, the Internet, computer games. The influence of the modern entertainment industry is one of the significant reasons why children become cruel and aggressive. Minors who constantly watch films with scenes of violence change their perception of the world around them. Computer addiction can generally lead to a child developing an incorrect value system. The computer is the main thing, the rest is nonsense. With this model of behavior, the child will be ready to fight and be rude in order to maintain access to his favorite entertainment.
