In a person’s life, the word is of great importance. People communicate with each other through words. Sentences are made from words, texts, stories and poems are made from sentences. With their help, people can communicate with each other and clearly explain their desires and feelings. Words can be used to express gratitude or dissatisfaction.
Scientists, thinkers, poets and prose writers left behind handwritten texts for us, their descendants. With their help, we can look into the past, find out what people thought hundreds of years ago, and use their experience and achievements in the present. Just like people of the future will be able to study the works of our contemporaries. This suggests that the word is a connecting link between generations.
Through words, you can support a person in difficult times; hearing praise, he will perk up. It is easy to inspire a person with a kind word, but just as easily he can be offended by a sharply expressed condemnation, and an insult in the heat of a quarrel can lead to a complete break in the relationship.
There are many sayings in the Russian language about the power of words, for example: “A kind word is also pleasant for a cat” - this saying says that you need to share your kindness, tell your family and friends more often that you love them, share positive things with them attitude towards life. “The word is not a sparrow, it will fly out, you won’t catch it” - implies that it is necessary to carefully choose expressions before saying something important, so as not to plunge the interlocutor into depression and despondency. Words spoken thoughtlessly cannot be taken back. They will bring suffering not only to your interlocutor, but also to yourself. You will be tormented by remorse and regret about what you said. Hypocrisy and falsehood cannot give people mutual understanding and kinship of souls. This can only be achieved by sincerity and truthfulness.
With the help of colloquial speech, we can describe everything that surrounds us, events or natural phenomena. Ignorance of your native language and inept use of vocabulary can lead to misunderstandings between loved ones, business partners and just friends. Therefore, it is very important to avoid understatement in a conversation and make sure that the interlocutor correctly understood the thought you expressed and at the same time weigh every word.
Essay 2
Everyone knows that the word has enormous potential. With the help of speech, you can show yourself from the best side, impress someone, influence the opinion of another person, and cheer someone up. In other words, the word has unlimited power. How does it manifest itself?
Its influence can be seen even in everyday life. For example, a compliment lifts the mood not only of the person to whom it is addressed, but also of the person who says it. You can say some kind of barb and offend a person. Perhaps this will significantly damage the relationship with him. A big role is played not only by the statement itself, but also by the intonation with which it was pronounced, what gestures accompanied it, what kind of facial expression the speaker had, his facial expressions... All this helps to give the word a shade, as well as add some meaning, meaning, individual message.
The power of words can also be seen in more global situations. For example, in the literary work “The Lay of Igor’s Campaign,” Svyatoslav, one of the heroes of the book, makes a solemn speech in which he calls on all people to unite, because one cannot defeat the enemy alone. His statement influenced the minds of many people who realized that their strength lies in unity. They united and defeated the Polovtsians, saving their land.
This example shows that the power of words is manifested not only in typical everyday situations, but also in emergency circumstances. For example, in war, as in this case.
Each person reacts differently to the statements of others. Some people take things very personally and get upset, so it is very important to be responsible with what you say. It is necessary to think about what the said judgment may lead to. You should be tolerant, tactful, careful and act wisely in such a situation.
But sometimes you still can’t restrain yourself and have to say nasty things. But a thoughtless word has enormous power. It can seriously upset a person so that it will be impossible to establish relationships later. Or between the two interlocutors there will forever remain a trace of resentment and misunderstanding from that statement.
With the help of his speech, a person is able to achieve absolutely any goal, but there is no need to be selfish. In your statements you should maintain kindness and mercy, nobility and tact, tenderness and accuracy, rigor and justice.

Even in ancient times, people perfectly understood the power and meaning of words in human life.
You may be familiar with the famous philosophical parable of the three “sieves” of Socrates. An acquaintance came to the famous ancient Greek sage who wanted to tell him about one of his friends. And then Socrates asked to “sift” his story through three “sieves”: truth, goodness and benefit. It turned out that the news that Socrates' acquaintance brought was not entirely truthful, bad and would not bring any benefit. Then the eminent philosopher asked him why he needed to know what his acquaintance was going to tell him.
In allegorical form, the parable tells us about the role of words in human life. Remember the lines of the Russian poet Vadim Shefner, who say that “with a word you can kill, with a word you can save.” Do we always carefully and carefully select words, remembering how much they mean in human life? Do we remember that a word is not just a symbol, but something more?
Since ancient times, people have tried to speak using certain rules, briefly and clearly. Instructions on how to behave in conversation were found on Sumerian clay tablets dating back to the 4th-2nd millennia BC. In those distant times, people understood that they should not speak in an irritated state, because later they would have to repent.
The “Laws of Manu,” which is an ancient Indian collection of behavioral norms, stated that one should not utter words in a dejected state. It is not permissible to use words to offend or intimidate others.
In the ancient East, it was considered the greatest insult to leave without hearing a person to the end.
Harsh verbal abuse, aggravated by resentment and emotional distress, can cause serious illness. Evil words carry negative energy, causing damage to the human psyche.
In contrast, kind, heartfelt words and wishes are remembered for years and bring harmony and tranquility to the human soul. But, unfortunately, in modern life we often forget or do not want to say kind and gentle words. How great it would be if people weren’t ashamed and didn’t forget to thank each other and give beautiful compliments.
God has given us a great gift - language, with the help of which we communicate and transmit information. We must not forget about the great responsibility in handling it.
Words have enormous power that can be used for the benefit of a person. After all, they are the “clothing” of our thoughts, which determine the quality of the conditions in which we live.

Let's fast forward to the second quarter of the 19th century. It was at this time that serfdom was in full bloom in Russia. Times were difficult. In order to expose his vices, it was necessary to ridicule him
Terminology
The word is a sign. It is defined as a unit of language that is commonly used in speech. The word as a means of communication acts as an instrument of oral contact, that is, its verbal form. It performs the nominative function of language: it indicates, names objects and things, actions, etc. But that dry definition does not even half explain how vast the term “word” is and how much can be created with its help. In order to understand how much it contains, you need to understand in more detail, to penetrate into the very depths.
Language, speech and their connecting link
As already mentioned, the word is a component of language and speech. At the same time, it is also their connecting link. It is known that language can develop independently of a person, while speech is an individual property. Through it, the uniqueness of the psyche of an individual person can manifest itself, in addition to the fact that with its help information will be transmitted, control and regulation of communication with others will be carried out.
The role of a word in people’s lives depends significantly on who uses it and in what meaning. That is why, when considering its influence, it is important to take into account all aspects of this phenomenon.
Impact on learning
The following model of the situation is given: a first-grader reads a problem that states: “A pen costs 5 rubles, and a pencil costs 8.” He also needs to calculate how much all the office supplies cost. The child is in a panic - he does not know how to do this. And you can explain to him the rules of addition as much as you like, but everything will be to no avail. Why? He doesn't know what "stationery" means. An inexperienced teacher will blame it on a “non-mathematical mindset,” but a generally intelligent child will forever be convinced that he is not good enough.
This example shows well that semantics is not only a humanitarian field, it is comprehensively important.
A little history
The origins of the language are shrouded in mystery. Of course, the majority of humanity has long gone through the stage of believing in myths and legends and, of all possible options, that language is God’s gift from heaven; or a property that alien beings endowed people with; as well as the ability that came by itself; and finally, the result of many years of evolution, chooses the latter as the most logical. But such an interpretation is too general for a scientific theory; it explains absolutely nothing.
But scientists unanimously advocate that if you remove language, a person will cease to be such. Because if speech can be called a characteristic of an individual person, then this complex system is a property of nationalities, ethnic groups, and an entire civilization.
The meaning of the word and its meaning
It's rare that a word has one meaning. Taken separately, taken out of context, it becomes a keeper of potential that can be realized in living speech. Only then does the word take on meaning.
This applies not only to the fact that this or that meaning can be used in a sentence. After all, there is also a figurative meaning, which once again proves the fact already mentioned in this article: speech is individual, when saying something, a person gives it his own character, and not just a list of data that needs to be transferred to someone else.
