Many people believe that the book helps a person form his own opinion about different areas of human life. Who or what influences this? Of course, the main character. He makes the story meaningful, it is his actions that the reader follows. What will the main character do, what does he think about this, how will he behave in this situation? These questions haunt those who are captivated by the book, and the main character tries to answer what, how and why he is doing. Tell me who your favorite literary hero is, and the Many-Wise Litrekon will tell you how to describe him. For this, he prepared 10 essays on the topic: My favorite hero. Favorite literary characters
My favorite literary characters, for whom I feel pain, and worry, and joy, and shame. Each of which left their chair in my soul. Warning: this is not another top from the Network of the best characters of all time and, of course, not the ultimate truth.
These are the ones I personally love. Those you don't have to love. Those who, in turn, have no goal will appeal to every reader. 1. Mother (The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck)
The Joad family locomotive. A strong-willed woman who does not give up even in stalemate situations. When the Joads' life abruptly and irrevocably cracks due to a forced relocation, Mother (whose name was never voiced on the pages of the novel) takes matters into her own hands, and only thanks to her efforts do the unfortunate Joads flounder on the surface without falling to the bottom.
2. Andrey Golikov (“Peter I”, Alexey N. Tolstoy)
The most unfortunate character not only in the novel “Peter I”, but, as it seems to me, in all Russian literature (okay, he shares first place with Vanka Zhukov and Mumu). Andryusha is beaten, deceived, not allowed to create, forced to starve, almost burned, forced into the army. My heart is already bleeding. And if you think about how many such restless creative geniuses there were in Rus'...
3. Dick Hallorann (“The Shining”, “Doctor Sleep”, “It”, Stephen King)
One of King's most important "unsung" heroes. He is always ready to help his friends, without demanding reciprocal heroism in his address. Smart, brave, “shining.”
4. Camille Preaker (Sharp Objects, Gillian Flynn)
A beauty with a perfect body, covered with terrible scars that form meaningless words like “crying,” “milk,” “resentment,” “blood.” Nervous, impulsive, driven. An unloved daughter, an unsuccessful journalist and a fan of sharp objects, who carelessly got into the thick of things and thereby stirred up a hornet's nest, cleverly pretending to be her family.
5. Ray Lennox (Shit and Crime, Irvine Welsh)
An Edinburgh police officer, cocaine addict and scoundrel from “Shit”, who at the end of the novel received the coveted position of detective inspector, in his own solo book “Crime”, unexpectedly for readers familiar with him and his riotous behavior, appears as a reasonable guy with clear moral principles. Yes, not an angel. And yes, cocaine is still Lennox's No. 1 drug dilemma. But I'm not ashamed of him. It's not a shame to fall in love with this Ray Lennox. Best character change in trash fiction.
6. Huckleberry Finn (“The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”, Mark Twain)
A young pariah, a boy with whom children were not allowed to hang out, a friend of the restless Tom Sawyer, a modest lover of spending the night in places not suitable for this, a great traveler and a modest guy who shuns money and wealth. Life shook Huck (both physically and mentally), but all the hardships of life could not spoil him.
7. Olya Alekseeva (“The Girl and the Birdflyer”, Vladimir Kiselyov)
Kiev resident Olya Alekseeva is in seventh grade, loves chemistry, and dreams of building a bird plane with her friends - a huge flying machine. She believes in the power of science and that justice will prevail. And she does everything that depends on her to ensure that evil is punished.
8. Fiona Cleary (The Thorn Birds, Colin McCullough)
Maggie's mother with a difficult fate. A woman who has suffered for her happiness. Fiona never, even in the worst moments, cried, wringing her hands, but acted.
9. Dick Sand (“The Fifteen-Year-Old Captain,” Jules Verne)
The main character of the main book of my childhood. Beloved Dick Sand, whose name is synonymous with reliability, loyalty, friendship and courage.
10. Victor Mancini (“Choke”, Chuck Palahniuk)
Sexaholic and fraudster Victor, who has three goals in life: to have sex with anyone, earn money for a clinic for his mother and find out the truth about himself in order to overcome the next step in the rehabilitation program for sex addicts. He has sex, he has a lot of this stuff. Money is also earned without any problems. But with the past, everything is much more complicated... Victor is a chameleon character, and the reader’s attitude towards him changes in almost every chapter, and this is what captivates him.
11. Sam Gamgee (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, J. R. R. Tolkien)
Frodo Baggins's squire, who can be trusted with everything: cooking, the One Ring, life. A seemingly unprepossessing fellow, one of those who makes you smile with his simplicity, turns out to be the best comrade-in-arms, a devoted friend and a desperate brave man.
12. Paul Bäumer (“All Quiet on the Western Front”, Erich Maria Remarque)
Paul went to war not because he wanted to kill with impunity, but because his Motherland called him. The cruelty of the war could not kill the youthful romance in him, and even in the daily meat grinder of endless deaths, he saw beauty and managed to remain human. “All Quiet on the Western Front” is not a book about war. This is a book about a man who finds himself in a war.
13. Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones trilogy, Helen Fielding)
Oh, gorgeous Bridge! She: 1) doesn't know how to program videos; 2) lived to be thirty years old, not knowing what one line on a pregnancy test means; 3) can endlessly watch “Pride and Prejudice” with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy; 4) drinks, smokes, reads useless books on self-development, worries about cellulite and counts calories to the point of insanity; 5) always open to love and offers to go to the pub; 6) when he can’t cope with his own children, he sneaks to the refrigerator to take a sip of wine; 7) careless about head lice; behaves hilariously under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms; 9) conquers Twitter with half a kick; 10) always childishly spontaneous and at the same time wise and honest. You can talk about Jonesy endlessly, because this is not a person - space.
14. Marcus Flint (Harry Potter series, JK Rowling)
One of the bad Slytherins. According to the fashion of the nineties, established at Hogwarts, he does not like Harry Potter and loves Quidditch. By the way, Flint was not seen at the Battle of Hogwarts. He was probably training at that time. Also, according to Ro's mom, she and Katie Bell got married, which means Marcus isn't that bad.
15. Padraic Osborne (The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Martin McDonagh)
Rounding out the list is Padraic, a cynical drug opponent and fan of his cat Tiny Thomas, from Inishmore. For you to appreciate the full power of this character, it is enough to say that Padraic was expelled from the Irish Republican Army for excessive bloodthirstiness. Perhaps the strongest hero from McDono's best play.
Essay “Good heroes in books”
When I enter the classroom, I often imagine myself in the image of Ivan Tsarevich. This is my favorite book character, whom I learned about from fairy tales. At night, my mother often reads books to me, my favorite Russian folk tales.
Ivan Tsarevich easily resists Koshchei, Baba Yaga. His ingenuity and patience help him deceive villains. I want to be as brave, kind, quick-witted and smart as Ivan Tsarevich, my favorite literary hero.
Essay “My favorite fairy-tale character”
The story of how Emelya lay on the stove was first read to me by my grandmother. I really liked the fairy tale “At the Pike’s Command,” especially its main character.
Emelya had nothing, he lived poorly, did not like work and slept a lot. But one day he was lucky, he went fishing and caught a magical pike, which began to fulfill his wishes.
Emelya is not brave, but a resourceful, quick-witted character. He was able to use the magical gift correctly and got everything he wanted.
I, too, would like to experience this gift of fate one day. But I think that for this we still need to learn a lot, because only an intelligent, fair and kind person can truly manage gifts correctly.
Three essays on the topic My favorite hero in the novel “Dubrovsky”
Example of a short essay. 6th grade. My favorite literary character is Dubrovsky. Quite recently I became acquainted with A.S. Pushkin’s story “Dubrovsky,” which I really liked, and its main character became one of my favorite literary characters. The great writer in the image of Dubrovsky presents to our attention a truly human ideal. Dubrovsky is brave, kind, educated, noble, handsome and romantic. The conflict between the landowners caused the death of Dubrovsky's father, but meanwhile the hero refuses to take revenge on Troekurov. Love for the daughter of his sworn enemy extinguished the feeling of hatred seething in him. The young nobleman builds relationships with the peasants on trust and devotion, and not on despotism and tyranny, which once again proves his nobility and superiority over master Troekurov. The peasants love and appreciate their young master.
Therefore, when the district court made a decision on the transfer of Dubrovsky’s peasants to Troyekurov’s ownership, all the courtyard servants were indignant. Vladimir Dubrovsky sets fire to his estate and goes into the forest with people devoted to him. He becomes the leader of a band of robbers, fights injustice and tries to win back his love. Unfortunately, he fails to do this. By the will of her father, Dubrovsky’s beloved Masha was married to the elderly Prince Vereisky. The gang of robbers disappears, but the time will come when the heroes will again stand up for the oppressed.
I like that Vladimir admits his mistakes. He understands that he was wrong when he did not write to his father, when he was not attentive and gentle to him. In addition, Dubrovsky begins to be tormented by injustice. He wants revenge. This does not characterize him from a very good side. However, as a man of high principles, he wants justice to prevail. This hero impresses me with his masculinity, nobility and life principles.
Dubrovsky is the embodiment of freedom, honor, nobility and spiritual purity. In this image, Pushkin displayed qualities that will be valued by others at all times.
Example of a short essay. My favorite literary hero is Maria Troekurova. My favorite hero from the novel “Dubrovsky” is Maria Troekurova. She is a beautiful young girl who was lonely and withdrawn. She loved to read and had a large library; she especially loved novels. Since Maria and Dubrovsky’s parents were neighbors, they were friends in childhood. And having met many years later, they fell in love with each other.
Troekurov, having learned about this, rushes to marry his daughter to the old count. Maria warns Dubrovsky with a sign about the danger, but he is late and she is married to someone else. On the way back, Dubrovsky and his comrades surround the wedding procession and tell Maria that she can escape.
Masha Troekurova did not do this because she was an honest and decent person. She was already engaged and could not and had no right to betray her husband. So, sacrificing her happiness, she remained true to herself and her principles.
Example of an essay: My favorite literary character is Dubrovsky. The main character in the story by A.S. Pushkin “Dubrovsky” - the hero of the same name Vladimir Dubrovsky.
Dubrovsky was tall, handsome, brave. He held the rank of officer. He loved his father very much, for whose sake he resigned. Vladimir received a letter in which it was written that all the estate that Dubrovsky the elder had was going to Troekurov, and he decided to come to his father. But when he comes to him, Dubrovsky the eldest dies right in the arms of his son.
Soon after the death of his father, Dubrovsky receives a notification that the house and everything that remains will go to Troekurov after the trial. The residents of Kistenevka did not want to pass to another owner, and therefore Dubrovsky decides to burn down the house and take the residents into the forest. To feed his people, Dubrovsky becomes a robber. He has to stop rich landowners on the roads and rob them, not allowing them passage.
Dubrovsky really wants to take revenge on Troekurov. And suddenly Dubrovsky was lucky: thanks to a fake passport intercepted from Deforge, who was going to get a job as a French teacher with Troekurov, he himself got a job as a teacher with his enemy.
Dubrovsky was waiting for an opportunity for revenge, but he met Masha, Troekurov’s daughter, and fell in love with her. Because of his love for Masha, he was unable to take revenge on Troekurov. But Dubrovsky’s love for Masha turned out to be unsuccessful, because Masha unwillingly married a neighbor. Dubrovsky wanted to save her, but to no avail.
I believe that Dubrovsky became a robber involuntarily, because he needed to feed his people.
