One of the latest innovations in the school curriculum is the subject “The World Around us”. Thanks to him, children receive primary knowledge about nature and man, which becomes the basis for more complex and in-depth disciplines in high school. To reinforce the material in class, students write essays on the material covered. An example of such work is an essay on the topic “My Family” in 1st grade.
Essay plan
The story on the topic “My Family” for 1st grade takes the form of a short essay. When writing, you can adhere to the following plan:
- Family members (list who the family consists of, give a brief description of each).
- Our family traditions (how the family spends time together).
- The role of family in human life.
In 1st grade, the essay “My Family” should not be too long - 15-20 sentences are enough. But if your child wants to tell you more about your family, you shouldn’t limit him.
Essay What is parental love?
What does parental love mean? This means caring for their children and helping them in any life situations. And, for them, it doesn’t matter whether the child is still small or already old enough. For parents, he always remains just their child.
Their love is limitless and capable of performing feats for the sake of their children. How many examples of this can be found in life. And many of the evidence of this are captured and glorified in literary works. No matter how difficult the time, the love of parents always remains the most sincere manifestation of this feeling. Any other close person can betray and forget, but not a father or a mother. Their love is resistant to trials and time. She is unshakable.
However, parental love does not mean that they should cherish and deify their child. Only a truly loving parent will think about his future independent life. And this means that he must do everything so that his beloved child can skillfully and know everything that will be useful to him. A loving parent will raise him strong and resistant to various troubles of life. And to do this, sometimes you have to be quite strict. Neither punishment nor moralizing can be avoided. All this with only one goal - to educate a person capable of living independently and coping with difficulties. And then teach this to your children. And all this is evidence of parental love.
And very often it turns out that children do not understand this. It is important to always remember that no matter how strict a parent is, it is only for the benefit. He conveys his life experience and knowledge. This means he loves his child.
Parents give us life. This is the only thing you need to be grateful for. Parents give their care and carefully monitor their child’s first steps. And they always do this: both when we are just learning to walk, and when certain moments in life come. Even if they don’t always do it too clearly, especially when the child becomes an adult. But only they love us as we are and only for what we are.

A story about my family
My family consists of four people: mom, dad, me and my little brother Volodya.
My dad's name is Vasily, he is 44 years old. He is very tall, with dark hair and gray eyes. Dad has big strong arms and broad shoulders. He is kind, often jokes and laughs. Dad has a wide open smile and dimples.
Dad works as a senior foreman at an aircraft factory. He and his shop do very important work - they repair radio components for passenger planes that transport people. This is a responsible matter on which the serviceability of the aircraft and the safety of passengers depend. Dad always does his job conscientiously and demands the same from his subordinates. At the plant everyone respects him and calls him by his first and patronymic - Vasily Romanovich.
My mother's name is Lydia. She has a very bright appearance: red hair, huge green eyes, slender figure. She is strict but fair. He will never punish me just like that, but will always figure out what’s going on and talk to me.
Mom works as a literary editor in a publishing house. She often takes her work home and in the evenings reads works that will later be published. I love watching her sit, wearing glasses, and intently read long texts, silently moving her lips. It was my mother who instilled in me a love of reading and the Russian language : we have a large closet at home with books that she bought for many years.
My little brother is 5 years old. His name is Romka, and he does not go to school yet, but attends kindergarten. Romka has dark hair, like his dad, and the same eyes. He is very smart, but naughty. Sometimes Roma plays around and bullies me, but I don’t let him down. In general, we are very friendly with him.
I believe that I have the best family in the world. We love each other and support each other in everything. When mom and dad have free time, we always spend it together: we walk in parks, go to the forest, ski and bike, go to the movies and cafes. My parents know many interesting games: hide and seek, catch-up, blind man's buff and others. We always do the house cleaning together: it’s faster, and most importantly, more fun.
I think that every person needs a family, so it should be valued and protected. These are the closest people who will always help you with advice and action, with a kind word. When you are sad, they will find words of support and comfort. Family is strength multiplied several times.
Reasoning
Parents are role models for their children. With their words, actions, and deeds, they encourage the younger generation to do the same. It is even possible that this happens unconsciously, children simply copy the behavior of adults. But sometimes the older generation deliberately gives advice and teachings to their children so that they do not make mistakes in the future. Should you always listen to them? It is impossible to give a definite answer.
On the one hand, yes, it is necessary. If this is advice regarding everyday issues or life difficulties that anyone may encounter and where experience will certainly be needed. And this is exactly what our fathers have. Such instruction will help in difficult times, even if loved ones are no longer around. It is like a bell, it will constantly jingle and remind you what to do and what not to do. A striking example from literature is Chichikov. Even in childhood, the father gave the hero a covenant: “Take care and save a penny.” Pavel Ivanovich tried in every possible way to find a way to get money, even through very illegal means. This suggests that the character accepted his father’s instructions, but focused too much on it, which affected the lives of other people. From this we can conclude that Chichikov’s father’s covenant concerned money, which, of course, depended on experience, but unfortunately the “child” did not direct his actions in the right direction.
On the other hand, it may be better not to follow. Such covenants will not always be relevant even after a few years. Views, interests, everyday life, life itself change. But the older generation obviously does not know what awaits their children in the future, so they try in every possible way to protect him, giving, perhaps, completely useless advice, while fearing for his life. In this case, the child simply will not be able to gain experience on his own if he follows the advice of his elders in everything. He will need to make mistakes, understand for himself what to do and what not to do. Yes, it will be painful, unpleasant, but it will be a test and a real lesson. That’s how the Wise Minnow listened to his father and sat in a hole all his life: he was afraid that the pike would eat him or cut the crayfish with his claws. I didn’t even see life, I didn’t create a family, I didn’t have children. Every day I sat and trembled, following my father’s behest. And then they will say that it is the elder gudgeon who is to blame. No. Not him. The fault lies with the younger one, who blindly began to follow this advice without even thinking about it. He misunderstood the covenant, that's all.
Should you always value advice from older generations? Yes. Appreciate, respect care, listen. But act on your own. Everyone has their own life, and everyone decides for themselves how to live it. We need to listen to what our loved ones tell us, but at the same time we need to understand their words correctly. Then your experience will be useful, and your life will also be your own, your own.

The best family in the world
I live with my mother, father and grandmother. In my opinion, I have the best family in the world. We are very friendly, rarely quarrel and have fun together.
My grandmother's name is Vera. She is short, thin, and wrinkled. Grandma has kind eyes and the same smile. She used to be a theater actress, but is now retired. Grandma knows a lot of fairy tales and funny stories, which she tells in a very interesting way. I always listen to her with my mouth open.
My mother's name is Alice, she is very beautiful - with dark hair and brown eyes. Mom is short, fragile and thin. She loves to dress fashionably and brightly and wear beautiful accessories. Mom works as a web designer - a person who creates websites on the Internet. Mom even has a portfolio - these are the works she has done.
My dad Anton is the kindest person in the world. He has a short black beard, the same hair and brown-green sly eyes. Dad works as a programmer for a large company and returns home quite late. But on weekends he always spends time with us, his family.
We also have a cat named Baton. He has a very beautiful coloring - black, red and white. Baton loves to play with a candy wrapper on a string and climb cabinets. When I pet him, he purrs, or, as dad says, “rumbles.” We all consider Loaf a member of the family because we love our fat furry friend very much.
On weekdays, my grandmother picks me up after school because mom and dad are at work. We are in no hurry to get home: we take a long walk in the park, collecting leaves and cones. Grandma tells me about nature - trees, plants, birds, animals. She taught me to love nature, respect it, never litter or offend living beings. She also bakes the most delicious pancakes and pies with apple jam.
In the evening, mom and dad help me do my homework. Actually, I do them myself, and they only check them, because I am an excellent student and study very well. On weekends we all walk together, go to the forest, go to the cinema or theater.
It is important for every person to have a family, and the larger it is, the better. Who, besides her, will help in a difficult situation? Family is the people closest and dearest to us, who will never betray or leave us in trouble.
Family traditions
There are only three people in my family: me, mom and dad. I also have many relatives: uncles and aunts, grandparents, cousins and second cousins, nephews.
My mother's name is Elizaveta, like one of the Russian empresses. This is probably why she has such a regal, proud posture. My mother is a history teacher. She is strict, but her students love her because she knows how to maintain discipline in her lessons and always talks about various historical events in a very interesting way. Mom also has a hobby - painting. We have an easel at home, and my mother draws pictures in her free time, which then decorate the walls of the apartment.
My dad Semyon is a tall man with a strong build. He works as a director in a trading company and has many subordinates. Dad gets tired at work because managing people is a very difficult job, but he still finds time to help me with my homework or play.
My family has its own traditions. Every weekend we go for a walk in the forest, because our parents think we need to breathe fresh air more often. We walk along the paths, I collect interesting plants and leaves from trees, and at home I make a herbarium out of them. There are a lot of squirrels in the forest, and every time we take a bag of nuts with us to feed the animals. If it’s winter outside, my mom and dad and I go skiing and sledding.
We always celebrate birthdays at home. I love these holidays very much, because all our large and friendly relatives, whom I do not see very often, gather for them. My brothers and sisters and I play in the nursery, and the adults chat, sing songs and dance. Dad can play the guitar, and mom sings well.
For the New Year, my family and I always buy a Christmas tree and then decorate it together. This is the best time of the year: the house smells of pine, colorful toys lie on the floor:
- balloons,
- rain,
- figurines of animals and birds,
- cones,
- icicles.
Our cat Businka also loves the Christmas tree. She runs around and tries to steal shiny tinsel or knock down a toy hanging on a branch with her paw. We put wrapped gifts under the tree, which we then open together. And on the morning of January 1, we certainly go to the ice town, where I ride down huge slides on a snow scooter or ice skate. We return home rosy, cheerful and drink hot tea and cake.
My parents and I live a very fun and interesting life. It seems to me that we have the happiest family in the world. I feel very sorry for orphans who do not have a mother and father, no close people who love and protect them. I think family is the best gift, so you need to love and take care of your loved ones.
Task options
Family is an important part of a child’s life, so every class pays great attention to this topic. The very first work of this kind is a written or oral story about a family in 1st grade on “The World Around Us.” This type of work helps first-graders realize the value of family ties, trains their writing skills, and teaches them to express their thoughts and emotions on paper competently and beautifully.
For older schoolchildren, you can offer something more difficult, for example, to make a report or essay on the topic of family, or to draw up a family tree of some kind. This will strengthen the child’s connection with his family, awaken interest in the history of his family and family traditions, and help rethink the value of family in a person’s life.
