For every person, the Motherland is the place where he was born and raised. I live in the largest and most wonderful country - Russia. This is where I grew up, where my closest and dearest people live.
Russia ranks first in the world in terms of territory. Moscow is the capital of my country. This is a very large city and a densely populated city that literally makes you fall in love with it from the very first seconds of your stay. Literally all travelers admire such places in Moscow as Red Square, the Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Lenin Mausoleum and many others.
People of various nationalities live in Russia. Each of them has its own traditions, rituals, cuisine, holidays and culture. The indigenous people of my region are Russians. But our Motherland, in spite of everything, is friendly. Just for fun, I would like to travel abroad to look at the structure of life in other countries, and also compare Russia with them.
Of course, the main wealth of our country is its people. Russia is famous for all famous personalities - writers, musicians, athletes, scientists, artists who are known all over the world. It was here that such wonderful people as Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Dmitry Mendeleev, Mikhail Lomonosov and many others were born.
Russia has a huge number of attractions, each of which has its own history and indescribable beauty. One of them is the State Museum - Peterhof Nature Reserve, where many historical buildings and works of art are concentrated. It is also worth paying attention to the greatest lake on Earth - Baikal. This is the deepest and incredibly clean lake, and the underwater world is quite rich and intense.
Of course, in Russia, like in any other country, there are problems. But we are on the way to solving them. Our people are strong in spirit, so we can overcome all difficulties and direct life in an even better direction.
I love my native land with all my heart and am proud of my Russian origin. Homeland is one of the greatest values in the life of each of us. It will live in a person’s soul all his life, because it is an integral part of life. In the future, I would really like to travel to every corner of my country, because I am sure that each is indescribably beautiful in its own way. And we should all appreciate and take care of our native land, because our ancestors spent a lot of effort to preserve it and pass it on to us.

Our homeland is Russia. It is the largest country in the world and today occupies a leading position in many world positions, and our culture and science are recognized as one of the greatest by many countries. Of course, all this would not have happened if it were not for our ancestors and their hard work, which created a good position for the development of Russia today, and thanks to whose legacy we look forward to a new day with courage and hope, without fear of difficulties. Let's look at the current state of our country.
Today, Russia is a regional power, which means that the influence of our state extends to the closest countries, however, Russia, as a member of the UN Security Council, is the guarantor of peace and tranquility of our planet. The army of our country is one of the strongest and most numerous in the world, which allows us to repel any attempts at military aggression. To all this it is worth adding the vastness of trade relations both with the countries of Asia and with the countries of Europe and America, to which we supply our natural resources and goods. Russia is also the cultural center of all Slavic and Eastern European peoples, thanks to which tourism, cultural exchange and education of our country occupy far from the last places in the world, and modern scientific achievements (like the achievements of the past) are significant, known and are used throughout the world.
Russia has many internal riches, both material and spiritual, which make our country unique. Firstly, natural resources that allow our country to develop industry and science. Secondly, nature, the beauty and diversity of which was emphasized by many writers of the past and which to this day is the property of our country. Thirdly, the peoples living on the territory of Russia, since it is they and their diversity that form the layer of unique Russian culture. Fourthly, architecture, painting and other representatives of material culture with which our country abounds. Fifthly, literary works whose spiritual value is so well known throughout the world that foreigners often learn Russian precisely in order to read Russian literature in the original.
I am proud that I was born in Russia and I wish everyone to visit it at least once in their life, because our country is unique and no words can fully express all the love that we, the residents of Russia, feel for our homeland.

Rivers and lakes
There are approximately 2,800,000 rivers in the country. The largest are the Volga, Yenisei, Lena, Ob and Amur.
In the north-west of Russia there are two largest lakes in Europe - Onega and Ladoga. In addition, there is the largest sea in the world - the Caspian, and the largest in depth - Baikal. Its depth is 1620 meters.
The capital of the country is Moscow. In Russia there are 1030 cities, 2153 urban-type settlements and a large number of villages and hamlets.
Approximately seventy percent of Russia's territory consists of plains and lowlands. A large area is occupied by the East European Plain and the West Siberian Lowland. They are separated by the Ural ridge.
Mountains
In the southern part of Russia there are mainly mountains. They are represented by the Caucasus, which has the highest mountain in the country - Elbrus, as well as the Altai and Sayan mountains. There are ridges in the north and east of Siberia and the Far East.
The Kuril Islands and Kamchatka have a large number of volcanoes, twenty-five percent of which are still active.
Forests
Russia has quite a lot of forests, almost forty percent of its area. National parks and reserves are being created in large numbers on their territory. The country has a diverse fauna.
There are four climatic zones on the territory of Russia - arctic, subarctic, subtropical and temperate. Most of Russia is located in the last belt.
Our Motherland
Russia is my homeland. For each of us, our native land is the place where you were born, lived in childhood and youth, met your first love, and found true friends. Sometimes people spend their entire lives in the place where they were born and never go anywhere for a long time. Why is our native land so dear to us?
Our homeland gives us not only close people, friends, like-minded people. It helps us understand the traditions of our family, the foundations of life of our parents, grandfathers and great-grandfathers. They selflessly served their homeland, gave it all their strength, lives, love, and believed in its better future. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers served Russia when they were young. They built plants and factories, erected industrial giants and agricultural complexes, worked on the land, were collective farmers, fishermen, and cattle breeders. We created design bureaus and institutes and did everything for victories in space and for the development of Russian science. In the First World War, the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, they became defenders of their native land. They brought all the hardships and difficulties, experienced personal tragedies and common troubles together with the entire people of Russia. It was they who passed on to their children and grandchildren their inescapable love for their homeland, loyalty and devotion to it. Of course, during the years of difficult trials that befell many people in the twentieth century, there were those who thought only about saving their lives; they became scoundrels and traitors. However, their native land did not take revenge on them, did not expel them to a foreign land. They themselves had to leave in hatred and anger and remain forever scoundrels in people's memory. Life was hard for them in a foreign land, but it was their personal choice. The children and grandchildren grew up, but they also could not “forgive” their homeland for what their grandfathers and fathers had done, forced to cowardly flee to different countries.
In our time, when our native land is again surrounded by unfriendly countries, there are people who were raised and live here, but hate and despise their Motherland, their people. They cause her the greatest harm than external enemies. Unfortunately, many of them are young people. They have not learned the traditions of their ancestors, they do not know how to love their homeland, even loved ones. These are consumers, they care only about themselves and live for themselves. This means they will never be happy. In conclusion, I would like to remember the proverb: “The Motherland is a mother, know how to stand up for it!” It expresses the great wisdom of many generations that your mother is your native land, she needs protection, careful treatment and love.

I call Russia my homeland because I was born and live here. I love my homeland very much. My relatives, friends and comrades live here, whom I also love. All residents of my homeland understand Russian, so they can communicate without problems. Russia is the largest state in the world. It is washed by two oceans at once. I mean the Pacific and Arctic oceans, and there are even more seas in Russia. Russia has a large fleet on these seas, and it also has huge reserves of natural resources. For example, gas, oil, gold and others. In Siberia and the Russian Far East, large forested areas with wild nature remain. But, despite the enormous resources, most of the Russian population does not live well. My Motherland is also a republic and a federation. And Moscow is the capital of my country; its population itself is larger than some European countries. Russia is a multinational country, therefore it is divided into federal republics, autonomous territories and districts. Almost two hundred different peoples, large and small, live in them. These are Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Chuvashs, Azerbaijanis, Ukrainians, Jews, Chukchi and many others. They are all called Russians. They should all live together because they have one country. Unfortunately, it often happens differently. But I hope that by the time I grow up, the quarrels between peoples in my country will stop. Russia, Rus' is my great homeland! Those who come to Russia for the first time are amazed by the endless expanses, endlessly stretching fields and forests. And, I must admit, I never cease to be amazed by her beauty. Any time of year is good, but in summer it’s especially magical - there are continuous grass carpets all around, and they are constantly changing: in early spring, the delicate greenery is enlivened by golden-yellow dandelions, then comes the turn of pink and white porridge, cornflowers, daisies, blooming clover, coltsfoot - Can you really list everything that can be found in the meadows? And the larks are filled with all this beauty. It's nice to walk through a field on a bright sunny day. There is a holiday in my soul, but how could it be otherwise when there is such magic all around. I can't resist making a wreath of wildflowers. A small river, Rekusha, meanders through the meadow; the water flows loudly over the pebbles and runs merrily towards the Volga. In some places there are entire thickets of yellow water lilies, but the hand does not rise to pick them, to destroy this beauty. In water they are uniquely beautiful; you are amazed at the diversity of earthly plants. Everything in nature is rational and beautiful, you just need to learn to see this beauty, be able to take care of it, preserve it for future generations. Nature is magnificent in itself, and at the same time, how many gifts it brings to people! Communication with nature brings extraordinary spiritual strength. It is no coincidence that holy people went to remote places to communicate only with God and nature. I am proud that I live in Russia, among these forests and fields, I want future generations to receive from us the same beauty of their native nature. To do this, you must endlessly love your land, treat it with care, increasing its wealth. Every person has a homeland. Our homeland, like our parents, is not chosen; it is given to us at birth and absorbed during childhood. For me, my homeland is, first of all, the place where I was born, these are my parents and relatives. My homeland is the house and yard where I spend my happy childhood, my friends, with whom I play. But a “small” homeland is unthinkable without a “big” homeland - great and vast Russia. Russia! This word sounds proud. Every person who has a homeland is happy. I’m happy too, because I was born and live in Russia. This is the homeland of my ancestors. Russia is rich in its nature: forests, rivers, lakes. There are many beautiful villages, towns, cities, both ancient and new, in Russia. But the most important wealth lies in people who are hardworking, hospitable, courageous, heroic, creative and sympathetic.
