- Pride
If we turn to dictionaries, we can note that the word pride has more than one meaning. This word means not only a feeling of self-respect for oneself, but also a feeling of satisfaction from something, for example, from one’s successes or children, from praise, from achieving a goal. But pride should not be confused with arrogance. There is no need to put yourself above others and please those who are not worth it.
Pride shows an appreciation of one's own worth. It encourages a person to perform work and other tasks efficiently and responsibly. With its help, a person can achieve great success in his career and vice versa. Being proud of your recognition and results is what can be called true pride.
Pride is also the inner spark that helps sanity. She educates, teaches, helps not to make repeated mistakes. For example, after insulting or humiliating someone, it is necessary to distance yourself from the offender.
True pride means loyalty to loved ones, ideals, and principles. A person endowed with pride is true to his inner strength. In different circumstances he remains himself. If a person is always faithful to his family, does not change his opinion under the influence of other people, and is in harmony with himself, then he can feel proud of himself.
For a proud person, his position in society remains important, and accepting any handouts is out of the question. Everyone should have pride, because with its help you can soberly evaluate your words and actions. It helps you feel respect for yourself and appreciate the path you have traveled.
There are also negative aspects to this feeling. For example, she sometimes does not allow you to come up first, ask for forgiveness, or admit your own mistakes. When a person has an excess of pride, it is likely to become pride, and this is not very good.
In our modern society, a huge number of people confuse pride with boasting. They forgot about the bright feelings that are associated with this trait. People no longer feel proud of great poets, actors, country and history. Fortunately, for many it remains a wonderful, reverent feeling that glorifies the Russian people.
Option 2
Each of us is an individual with his own personality, opinion, taste and style. Everyone has their own opinion on this or that issue, often different from others. These qualities make up the uniqueness of a person. Over the course of life, some traits undergo dramatic changes, while others remain unchanged, despite the influence of external factors. We will talk about such qualities as pride and arrogance. There is no need to confuse these character traits. Pride is a positive quality, akin to self-esteem. But pride is a negative quality, similar to tyranny. Let us examine the word “pride” in detail.
Pride makes people strive for something new, difficult and unknown. A person can be proud not only of himself, but of his child, brother, doctor, state, artist, etc.
Pride stimulates a person to perform the work assigned to him with high quality. Think about it, if a teacher praises you in front of the whole class for an excellent answer, would you feel like someone is proud of you? At such moments, there is a desire to bring more and more joy to this teacher in order to further earn praise.
With the help of pride, a person can overcome several steps of the career ladder, but going down or up will depend on him. For example, one employee submits reports on time and does quality work, while another does not manage to do anything and makes many mistakes. A proud employee will prove himself to be a responsive worker, and if pride prevails, he will begin to point out the negative aspects of a colleague’s work in order to curry favor with his boss. Such people are usually not respected in society.
Pride shows the level of self-esteem. Each of us at least once in our lives uttered the phrase: “My pride will not allow me to do this.” This suggests that self-esteem dictates our behavior and the limits of what is permitted.
In a sense, pride comes from being satisfied with the results of one's labors. When work is done well, satisfaction comes.
You need to be careful. Pride can be uncomfortable and even dangerous. The line between pride and arrogance is so small that having played with honor and dignity, a person may not notice how he has crossed the line. It happens that you need to call first, ask for forgiveness or admit a mistake, but pride does not allow you to take the first step.
Second argument
The problem of pride and arrogance is also raised in A. S. Pushkin’s story “The Captain’s Daughter.” Here the images of Pyotr Grinev and Alexey Shvabrin, who find themselves in the same situation, are contrasted. The heroes have only two choices: save their lives by betraying their Motherland, or sacrifice their lives, but remain faithful to their Fatherland. A.S. Pushkin shows that Pyotr Grinev has pride, as he remains faithful to both the Motherland and himself, defending his honor and dignity, while realizing that he will have to sacrifice his own life. Alexey Shvabrin chooses a different path, demonstrating his pride. Shvabrin’s betrayal is connected not only with preserving his life, but also with the desire to demonstrate his own superiority to everyone around him.
Reasoning
More than once in life, every person has had an irresistible feeling that he must act as dictated not by his mind, but precisely by his inner state of soul. This state can be described as a certain emotion that helps a person to be, depending on the situation, unshakable, arrogant, arrogant or narcissistic. This emotion is called “pride”.
But in no case should this emotion be classified as clearly positive or negative. After all, in each specific situation it has its own specific shade and ideological meaning.
If, for example, a person was offended, humiliated or insulted, then this feeling of pride in his opinion, his position in society is simply bound to awaken. And in this situation, pride is a very positive emotion that makes you love, respect and appreciate yourself.
And if we consider another situation, for example, having more material wealth than others, a person behaves arrogantly and under no circumstances is going to not only communicate with such less wealthy people, but even look in their direction. In this case, pride is clearly negative.
Having considered these two completely different and antonymous examples, I would like to summarize and define what pride is?! Pride is the inner spark of a person, responsible for the most important thing - common sense. Why spark? Yes, because this emotion, like a match, lights up depending on any circumstances, situations and actions. On the one hand, it can be assumed that this human character trait is completely uncontrollable, like an outburst or a response to what is happening. But on the other hand, this trait educates us, teaches us and repels us from making repeated mistakes (after being humiliated by someone without a justified reason, we no longer need to conduct any business with the offender - this is what our pride interprets to us).
It so happens that in our time, a huge number of people understand pride as something stupid and disgusting, since the world of modern technology is gradually dulling people's minds. The pursuit of the latest gadgets and the acquisition of improved material goods has led to the understanding of pride as boasting and arrogance. And people completely forgot about the warm feelings associated with this trait. Now people have stopped feeling proud of their fatherland, ancestors, victories, and history in the end. But, naturally, this does not apply to everyone. There are still a lot of people for whom pride is a great and reverent feeling that glorifies the Russian people.
What is pride? — Final essay
We often hear about pride as the main vice of humanity. It is dangerous, because it leads to the death of not only a person, but also those around him. Grave sin is seen in films, illuminated on the pages of novels, and occurs in everyday life. But it is not always possible to recognize pride in its true manifestation; it is often disguised as pride and shows its owner as a person defending his interests. What then is pride?
Let us turn to the story of M. Gorky “Old Woman Izergil”. The character Larra is given a special place. The son of an eagle and a woman absorbed a different way of life, unlike ordinary people. Returning to society gave a false impression of my own uniqueness. Having imagined himself to be the best among people, the guy considered his interests to be paramount and thought that others should live to please his desires. Respect and sympathy are unknown to this creature; they are contrary to his nature. The highest manifestation of selfishness and indifference to others was the murder of a girl who did not desire him. This behavior is acceptable for a demigod. The punishment did not even provoke a fleeting thought of apology. How can his actions be considered if not the highest manifestation of selfishness and pride?

Charlie Gordon faced the problem of inconsistency with his surroundings in D. Keyes’ book “Flowers for Algeron.” The main character is mentally retarded, well aware of his differences. A kind and sympathetic guy who wants to become smart agrees to a rather risky operation to improve his intelligence. The dizzying success of the surgical intervention is obvious - in a short time, Charlie is ahead of even the world's luminaries in terms of mental development. And this is where the problems begin. Clearly seeing the mistakes of scientists, aware of his superiority, the guy does not forgive other people's stupidity.
Detachment from the people around him exalts him in his own eyes. Gordon is again different from everyone else - but now at a completely different pole. The worst thing is the awareness of pride - the guy sees that his behavior is harmful, but cannot do anything, because emotional development does not gallop behind intellectual development. Regression can be called salvation.
Thus, we can say that pride is a manifestation of exaggerated, imaginary superiority over people. It is not a fact that this superiority has any basis. But pride needs no reason.
Essay about pride
The pride of the family is children.
Family is a reflection of a person's life. A family in which the relationships between all members are positive, which leads to self-improvement of a person, is a real source of pride. Children are not only family members, but also a reflection of their parents. You could even say that children really are the future of their parents, a reflection of their inner world. And every step that a child takes makes parents proud, makes them feel that they will not be forgotten in this world, but will be realized through their children. A lot of strength and love is invested in the family, and therefore the fact that my family is the best in the world is not subject to discussion, but is taken as an axiom. My family is my pride.
Pride is work.
Good work is a great achievement in our time because a lot of effort is put into it. A good job is the result of a good education, which is always honest dedication to the profession, sleepless nights and dreams of a better future. A good job is also the key to the stable well-being of a person and his family. Good work means recognition from employers and colleagues. Good work is about self-fulfillment and satisfaction of needs towards others and self-esteem. Having a job means that a person is claimed by the company for which he works. This opens up opportunities for a successful career. Having a job means having more opportunities in life and showing true professionalism, so pride is work.
Pride is loyalty.
True pride is loyalty to people, places, feelings, beliefs, points of view, ideals, principles. It is about commitment to integrity, dignity and inner strength. It's all about being the person you are, no matter the circumstances. This involves knowing who you are and what qualities you possess. If a person is faithful to his family and friends, if his opinion about them does not change under the influence of any factors, if his convictions are deep and his actions are in harmony with his words, then a person can be proud of himself. Loyalty includes honesty as an integral part. Thus, a person who is committed to his opinion to the very end is something to be proud of. This is why pride is loyalty.
Pride is many things at once.
But the main aspect is that the object of pride should bring positive changes to a person’s life and to the world around him. Whether it's family, work or loyalty, it's always about staying on top: living in harmony with family, achieving self-realization through work or being honest and committed to people and feelings. Each of them is pride, and pride is all these things at once.

Russian language essay on a free topic My pride Russia
An essay in the Russian language on a free topic. The work was completed by 4th grade student Alina Maistrenko.
Essay on the topic: “My pride is Russia.”
I often think about what feat I, a girl, can do for my homeland, my native land, and I understand that boundless love, devotion and loyalty - this is my little love for my homeland, over the years this will develop into a necessary need to bring benefit to my country, but for now I glorify her and this is my small deed for my homeland:
Russia! This word is on the lips of many people. This is what I am proud of and I want everyone to know that Russia is the kindest corner of the entire globe.
Every person who has a homeland is happy. I am also happy because I was born and live in Russia. This is the homeland of my ancestors. Our homeland, like our parents, is not chosen; it is given to us at birth and absorbed during childhood. For me, my homeland is, first of all, the place where I was born, these are my parents and relatives. Homeland is the house and yard where I spend a happy childhood, friends, with whom I play, classmates. My “small” homeland is worth nothing without the “big” homeland - great and vast Russia.
My country is rich in its nature: forests, rivers, lakes. There are many beautiful villages, towns, cities, both ancient and new, in Russia. And in my Kuban these are villages, farmsteads and endless fields with wheat, rice fields, and gardens.
And my country is also rich in its traditions, which people sacredly perform and honor. I am proud of my people, they are the main wealth of Russia, hardworking, hospitable, courageous, heroic, creative and responsive. Different peoples live in our region. After all, we all know that Russia is a multinational country, where almost two hundred different peoples, large and small, live. These are Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Chuvashs, Adygeis, Ukrainians, Jews, and many others. They are all called Russians. They all try to live together, because we are one family. Unfortunately, sometimes things are different. But I am sure that by the time I grow up, the quarrels between peoples in my country will stop, because it’s not for nothing that we are taught to be friends with all peoples and to be tolerant, as well as to help our elders
This year, on September 1, a class hour was held throughout Kuban with a very interesting topic “The Name of Kuban.” In our class, everyone prepared a story about famous people from different eras, and when we arranged our works on the timeline, we saw how many good people there were throughout of all times since the formation of Kuban. Classmates also talked about their loved ones who glorified and are now glorifying their Motherland with good deeds and deeds. They have performed and are now performing feats, and sometimes at the cost of their own lives, they brought and are bringing glory to the entire Fatherland, like the hero of the Russian Guard, Major S.G. Taranets, whose name my school bears.. We as a whole class decided to continue this holy cause - to glorify our Motherland with good deeds.
We are lucky that we live among these grain fields, the golden wealth of Kuban and Russia. I want future generations to receive from us the same beauty of our native nature that I and my friends admire. To do this, I urge you to endlessly love your land, treat it with care, increasing its wealth! This is my small feat for now.
