The heroes of the historical poem by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov “Song about Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich, the young guardsman and the daring merchant Kalashnikov” are unique and individual. Alena Dmitrievna is a girl of pure thoughts, who knows about personal honor and dignity. She is the wife of the merchant Kalashnikov, a very economical homemaker. The author describes her nature as persistent, honest and fair. She sincerely loves her children and husband and is not ready to exchange loyalty to her family and love for betrayal. At that moment when Kiribeevich put Alena Dmitrievna to shame, she did not hide what happened from her husband and told the whole truth. She understood that if she did not tell, then another rumor, distorted by the people, would reach her husband. This could not be allowed.
Kiribeevich
Kiribeevich is a guardsman and a favorite of Ivan the Terrible. His nature is very dirty and immoral in terms of relationships with other people. The interests of other people are alien to him. He does not try to keep up with social and moral orders. He is ready to curry favor, and in order not to lose the tsar’s trust in his person and his position, he reads up the story, and keeps silent about what concerns his affairs. So, the king punishes those who are not guilty. At the same time, Kiribeevich does not experience feelings of guilt or remorse. The fact that someone suffered is not important to him, but what is important is that he remained with the sovereign. He treats family values and moral standards in a similar way.
His love for Alena Dmitrievna did not improve his quality. On the contrary, in order to satisfy his whims, he offers his love and money to the married Alena Dmitrievna. He is unpleasant to the girl, which makes her very unhappy. He is overcome by a lack of understanding why, when he has wealth, the woman he loves does not want to be with him. Kiribeevich is a guardsman. He is a violator of social and moral principles. For the hero, the laws of the people turn out to be insignificant. He feels his advantage over other people because he is the favorite of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. To show his superiority, Kiribeevich does not tell the tsar the full story. For the sake of his own selfish goals, the oprichnik deceives Ivan the Terrible so that the latter will come to his defense. Kiribeevich put his own interests above the interests of other people. He rebels against moral and moral laws that relate to a person’s family life. Kiribeevich does not pay attention either to social laws of morality or to the desires of his beloved. The hero does not want to understand that he will not be forced to be nice to Alena Dmitrievna.

He climbs in to kiss the girl and tears her clothes. When the young girl returned home, her husband was shocked. He instantly challenged this vile guardsman to a duel to fight with his fists. It was in a duel that the Tsar's guardsman Kiribeevich was killed. For what he did, the tsar decides to execute Stepan, but makes a promise that his children and wife will not need anything, they will be under the fair hand of the tsar. The Tsar allows Stepan's brothers to trade on all Russian lands without duty. In this, in principle, the king’s justice was manifested.
Perhaps at first glance this may seem unfair. However, if we think about it, Stepan took the life of a subordinate tsar, in response to this the tsar himself had every right to do the same. However, the ruler showed mercy to the merchant’s family, which suggests that justice is a trait of Ivan Vasilyevich.
Someone might think that the tsar acted rather irrationally by killing Stepan. However, the king acted according to his conscience, life for life.

Kiribeevich is a guardsman who put Alena to shame. According to the heroine, after what happened, what is more important for her is not the opinions of others, but the thoughts of her own husband and his anger, which can affect the heroine’s future life and radically change it. To show his superiority, the hero constantly organizes various scams and provocations, setting up other people and forcing them to play his games, which are very wrong and dishonest.
Alena Dmitrievna and Kiribeevich are connected only by the secret desires of the latter, who is trying in various ways to seduce a married woman, offering her all sorts of privileges and wealth. Alena Dmitrievna is a woman who respects the laws of morality, so she doesn’t even want to think about cheating. But Kiribeevich is not at all interested in her thoughts and desires on this matter.
The confrontation between these heroes, in fact, is considered a confrontation between good and evil, which exists even in the modern world and prevents many people from developing. Kiribeevich believes that if he liked a woman, then she should belong to him; other aspects do not concern a man.
Not getting what he wanted, Kiribeevich simply defamed the girl and made her disgraced. Only Alena Dmitrievna’s strength and inner core allowed her to survive such an event and prevent the hero’s narcissism from fully manifesting itself.
