Essay based on the painting by artist Sergei Alekseevich Grigoriev “Goalkeeper”

Essay on the painting Goalkeeper

The painting was painted in 1949. She was very successful. For the films “Goalkeeper” and “Admission to the Komsomol” Grigoriev was awarded a state prize. The main idea of the picture is that football is an exciting spectacle that everyone likes.

Grigoriev’s painting depicts a warm autumn day, late September - early October. The wind, sweeping and twisting yellow leaves, leaves the trees and bushes almost naked. It’s still dry, but it’s no longer early autumn. The sky seemed to be covered with a veil. In the background you can see the city in a slight haze. Landscape is the background on which children are depicted. It is written easily and freely. The landscape is subordinated to the main story about children passionate about playing football.

The guys gathered after school to play football in a vacant lot. Their gates are made from briefcases, bags and berets. The artist did not depict the football competition itself, so the canvas became even more valuable. But there is a very acute situation where the goalkeeper and the spectators are looking, maybe in a few seconds the ball will approach the goal.

All spectators are dressed warmly, they sit in hats and coats. Only the goalkeeper in his shorts, as if it were summer. He has gloves on his hands, which show that the boy is very experienced and has stood at the gate more than once. The brightest spot in the picture is the red tracksuit of the boy standing behind the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper stands, slightly bent, covering the goal and quickly reacting to what is happening on the field of action.

As if on benches, fans sit on boards stacked at the edge of the house. Spectators of all ages: children, an uncle, and a small child. All of them, fascinated by the game, watch it closely and very enthusiastically. The boy in the dark green suit is the most captivated by the match. The man is a passerby who became interested in the game and stayed to watch it. The girls are also very focused. The only one indifferent to football is the white dog, dozing, curled up next to the kids.

The artist managed to unite the characters with a single action. Each detail has its place and, at the same time, each character is revealed convincingly; It is no coincidence that the film “Goalkeeper” is one of the best. It combines expressive details, successful composition, and soft coloring.

Option No. 2

Soviet artist Sergei Grigoriev painted his painting “Goalkeeper” in 1949; it is currently kept in Moscow, in the archives of the State Tretyakov Gallery.

Approaching the picture, we involuntarily find ourselves at a football match, which the boys organized after school. The makeshift stadium was located right there in the school yard, the gates were marked with school bags. Clothes are stacked next to them, and red pioneer ties lie on top of their briefcases. The fact that the schoolyard is a permanent meeting place for young football players is evidenced by the fact that next to the field there are places made of planks for fans, of whom, apparently, there are always a lot of people gathering here.

It is clear that the young athletes prepared for the match in advance, otherwise how would the goalkeeper have such an important sports attribute for him - gloves. The shorts were probably worn under trousers, and the goalkeeper did not have time to exchange a white shirt and jumper for a T-shirt and sports sweatshirt. The main character of the picture appears to be about twelve years old. His passion for football is serious for him, otherwise he would not have gloves. The bandage on his knee also speaks of his great football experience. The injury probably occurred in the game, but this did not stop the goalkeeper devoted to the sport. He understands his mission, and besides, he knows that no one will protect the gate better than him. The boy's face is concentrated, he is closely watching the game and is ready to hit the ball at any moment.

Behind the goalkeeper, a smaller boy stands out as a red spot. His task is to catch the ball in time if it flies past the goal, and return it back into the game. He is very glad to at least get involved in football in this way, because they don’t take him into the game yet: he’s too young. But when he gets older, he will definitely ask to join the team, because he loves football very much.

Despite the fact that this is an ordinary boys’ match, this spectacle has a lot of spectators; the “tribunes” gathered fans of different ages: the same boys, girls from school and kids. There are also adults among the observers: a woman with a child in her arms, apparently the mother of one of the football players, and a man who was going about his business, but, seeing that an interesting game was being started, could not pass by. He is a true fan and always attends the games of the local football team, which is why he could not deny himself the pleasure of “cheering” for the boys. There is no doubt that the game is exciting; this is evidenced by the man’s pose and the expression of his face. And also the anxious looks of young fans who are very worried about “their own”. And only the black and white mongrel, indifferent to football, is curled up and quietly dozing next to the baby.

It's late autumn outside, cloudy and damp, the wind is blowing. The trees have almost lost their leaves; a few of them have retained their yellow foliage. It is raining outside. The spectators are dressed warmly. Those who have hoods on their clothes put them on to avoid getting wet. In contrast to the cold, gloomy autumn and chilled spectators, the boy in shorts looks hot. Of course, it is fueled by the player’s excitement!

There is another important character in the picture who is indifferent to the football match - this is the city plunging into the evening darkness. Separate buildings, a small bridge across a river, a church - all this is completely indifferent to the boys’ life, because day after day they have to solve completely unchildish problems. Against the backdrop of this autumn-city seriousness, a courtyard football match looks positive, joyful, and life-affirming. Looking at this canvas, art lovers experience joy, remember their happy childhood, distracting themselves from their adult, sometimes unsolvable problems. Truly, football plus childhood is what makes our lives more positive!

Essay based on the painting by Grigoriev Goalkeeper 7th grade

In S. Grigoriev’s painting “Goalkeeper” we see a football match, players and spectators located in a vacant lot.

Of the players, only the goalkeeper is depicted; the rest are not visible in the picture. The goalkeeper, judging by the gloves on his hands, his face expressing seriousness, and his sinewy legs, is very experienced and has stood in goal more than once. The goalkeeper, a boy of twelve or thirteen years old, stood waiting for an attack on his goal. He's right after school. This is clear from his briefcase lying instead of a barbell.

The goalkeeper, players and spectators are not on a football field, but on a vacant lot not intended for football.

In the background is a boy behind the gate and spectators. Probably the boy in the red suit plays well, but he was not taken because he is younger than the players. He looks only nine or ten years old, but by the expression on his face he really wants to play.

Spectators are of all ages: children, an uncle, and a small child. And everyone is very interested in the game. Only the dog, probably one of the spectators, is not watching the game.

The location of the film is Moscow. Stalin's buildings are visible in the background.

It's autumn outside. Late September – early October. The weather is wonderful, warm, because everyone is dressed lightly: in windbreakers, some - kids - in hats, the goalkeeper - in shorts.

I liked this picture because it is “alive”. I feel the emotions that the guys are filled with: both the players and the spectators.

Essay based on the painting “Goalkeeper” by S. A. Grigoriev

1 option

I am not a football fan or expert, but I like S. Grigoriev’s “Goalkeeper” painting. Before us are children who are in love with this game.

Nature is beautiful in early autumn. The leaves have already turned yellow, it’s easy to breathe at this time of year. The school year has begun. Sunny days are becoming less and less frequent. After school, the boys started another game in the vacant lot. The artist depicted the match in full swing. The center of the site is outside the canvas, but the viewer understands that the passions on that field are serious. The goalkeeper closely monitors the players' actions. How focused he is on the game! He catches every move of his opponents, because the outcome of the game depends on him. There is a little boy in a bright suit standing behind the gate, carefully watching the game. He's here because he wants to play too. Unfortunately, he is still small, he is not yet accepted into the team. The fight between two teams takes place on a flat area, favored for playing football. The goal was made from two briefcases, and the benches for fans were replaced by an old tree. The love of football brought children I knew and didn’t know to the game. So a respectable man approached the players and watched the progress of the match. He is interested, just like the rest of the audience. Once upon a time, he also spent hours chasing a ball in a vacant lot, forgetting about his lessons and promises to come home on time. Only the dog waiting for its owner is indifferent to what is happening. Curled up in a ball, she sweetly dozes in the sun. Cheerful voices and laughter do not cease for a long time on the outskirts of a big city.

I like this picture because the author treats the children’s passion with love and respect and skillfully portrayed the characters in the picture. I want to look at every detail for a long time.

Option 2

One of the significant works of the artist Sergei Grigoriev is the painting “Goalkeeper”. The picture was painted in the first post-war years, back in 1949. The general atmosphere created by the author of this work allows us to easily understand what is happening. Autumn time, early evening. Children gathered in a vacant lot to play football.

If we take a closer look at the picture, we will see that the main character, a goalkeeper, is protecting an improvised goal. The boundaries of the gate are conventionally designated by the briefcases and hats of the children gathered in the vacant lot. The goalkeeper is ready to repel the attack. His very pose speaks of this. The legs are half bent at the knees, a gaze is tracking the movement of the ball.

Grigoriev emphasized the details. The goalkeeper has gloves on his hands, the knee of his right leg is bandaged, and his clothes do not restrict his movements. This suggests that the boy at the goal is an experienced football player.

In the background we see fans. The progress of the game is watched by those gathered - children and an adult man. We even see girls among the spectators. The game is tense. Everyone froze in anticipation. And only a small dog sleeps, sitting comfortably at the feet of the fans.

In the background is a panorama of the city. Cloudy skies, light smog over the city, trees losing their leaves. Everything suggests that it is cool outside. We also feel the blow of the autumn wind, seeing that the fans are warmly dressed. And only the goalkeeper, excited by the game, is dressed lightly.

Today the painting “Goalkeeper” can be seen in the Tretyakov Gallery. And this is not surprising. The artist managed to convey everything that can be felt when personally present at the game. The time of year, the emotions of those gathered, an exciting game - all this seems very realistic to us and in our imagination we are transported to a wasteland, becoming fans, players...

Essay with description

I see S. Grigoriev’s painting “Goalkeeper”. This painting shows spectators and a goalkeeper during a football game.

In the foreground of this picture there is a boy, from his appearance it is clear that he is a goalkeeper. He has a very concentrated face, perhaps the ball is approaching the goal, or, most likely, he is about to receive a penalty. The goalkeeper's leg is bandaged, which shows that this boy plays football regularly. He is twelve years old, I think he is an average student. Perhaps he will become a good football player in the future. Behind the goalkeeper is another, smaller boy. He is very sad that he was not included in the team. He stands with a pouty face. He is in approximately third grade. He's very confident. After all, instead of sitting with other spectators, he stands on the field.

The boys are playing in a yard that is not intended for playing football. Instead of barbells, they have briefcases on their sides, indicating that they play football after school.

In the middle ground, spectators are sitting on a bench, clearly engrossed in the game, except for the dog, who is thinking about something of his own, most likely about food. In addition to the children, an adult uncle is sitting on the bench, clearly extremely passionate about the game. He probably remembers himself during his school years. Two girls are sitting next to their uncle. The first one - in a cloak with a hood - is also watching the game very closely, the second one is also no less interested in what is happening. It seems to me that the second girl is mandatory. She has a small child in her arms. Two boys are sitting next to her, clearly interested in the game. The first boy bent down to better see the game, and the second craned his neck because he couldn’t see anything behind his uncle. Behind this boy is a girl. It seems to me that she is a good student. She is dressed in a school uniform and has a bow on her head. Nearby is a boy sitting with his little brother. I think that this boy is very responsible, he helps his mother all the time and takes care of his younger brother. All the spectators are very enthusiastic and focused on the game, even the last boy's younger brother looks at what is happening with interest. It is possible that the dog lying next to the brothers belongs to them.

Buildings are shown in the background. I think the action of this picture takes place in a large city, probably in Moscow, somewhere in the golden autumn, around the time of Khrushchev, in the 50s and 60s. The sky seems cloudy to me, and it’s not that hot outside.

This picture symbolizes football. It depicts eleven people and a black and white dog. Eleven people symbolize the number of players on the team, and the black and white dog represents the soccer ball.

Overall, I liked the picture, but it would have been better if it had depicted the entire field and all the players.

Getting to know the canvas

The artist's work is aimed at young viewers. In order to understand its intention, you should get acquainted with the picture and its plot. Obviously, the action takes place in a vacant lot or on the outskirts of a residential area. In the foreground the main character is a boy of 10-12 years old. He defends a makeshift gate, the border of which is marked by folded briefcases. Instead of benches for fans, there are logs on which seven children and an adult man in a hat are seated.

Behind the gate you can see another boy in a red shirt. He took a confident pose and did not take his eyes off what was happening on the field. Grigoriev also depicted a white dog curled up at the feet of the smallest fan. The dog trusts people and sleeps peacefully, showing no interest in what is happening.

Industrial buildings and multi-storey buildings can be seen in the background. Therefore, it is easy to assume that events are developing in a big city at the beginning of autumn (yellowed leaves of bushes and demi-season clothing of the children).

Main character

When writing an essay based on S. Grigoriev’s painting “Goalkeeper,” the main character should be mentioned in the description. The blond boy at the gate looks no more than 12 years old. He is wearing a jacket with the collar of a school shirt visible from the neck, as well as shorts and boots tied with ropes. The young athlete prepared to defend the goal, bending down and resting his gloved hands on his knees. The taped right knee suggests that he has fallen to the floor before during games and has a history of bad experiences.

Everything that happens on the battlefield remains a mystery to the audience. However, one can guess that the events unfolding are serious. The boy’s pose expresses complete seriousness to fight to the end, because what is at stake is his authority among his peers and his reputation on the football team.

Other characters

The game attracted the attention of fans, many of whom were not averse to taking part in the fight. The bulk of the support group is local kids of different ages. A man in a suit joined them. Perhaps this is the father of one of the guys, a neighbor or a random passer-by. Like the guys, he enthusiastically follows the game and worries about its outcome. No less than the guys he would like to be a player or stand on the goal.
