Character design
The original design of the little mermaid Ariel was created by Disney studio animator Glen Keane. In one of his interviews, Keene claims that for the image of Ariel he was inspired by his wife, as well as a little by the appearance of the model Sherry Stoner and the young actress Alyssa Milano.
